Wardrobes ready…….

September is the start of all things new!

A new season, new collections, new term and perhaps new jobs and schools.…

It’s also time to say bye bye to Summer 2017 and hello to Autumn/Winter.

Here are a few wardrobe tips to help you welcome the new season in style;

1, Your clothes should make you happy, so declutter your wardrobe of clothes you didn’t feel good in, you don’t like or wear in Spring/Summer 17.

2, Best to make space, so swap your wardrobe. Pack away your holiday and summer clothes. Dig out your Autumn/Winter clothes: shoes, boots, outerwear and accessories.

3, Write a shopping list of gaps in your Autumn/Winter wardrobe that you will need for the new season.

4, To save time when getting dressed in the mornings, create different looks from the clothes you have, for your work, casual and social wear…

5, If the above tasks seem daunting, our trained stylist will happily help you declutter your wardrobe, create numerous stylish looks for the new season from your existing wardrobe and have you ready for Autumn/Winter effortlessly.

A Slender New Year!

If you are anything like me, you have over indulged during the festive season and are keen to shift the extra pounds.

Here are a few style tips to give you a head start, so you look and feel your best this year.

Style tips for a slender you:

  • Colour: colour continuity is key to lengthening your silhouette. Wear the same colour top, bottoms, (tights) and shoes. Inject colour with your jacket, scarf or jewellery
  • Fabric: opt for more fluid fabrics such as silk or chiffon, steer clear of lycra or anything that clings to the body
  • Dress: wear more dresses and skirts: they are more forgiving and flattering. They also hide a multitude of sins – rather than trousers, which show everything!
  • Accessories: lay aside all belts (thin or wide) till you have achieved your desired circumference 😉 Belts draw attention to your midriff and emphasis it

Snuggle up in Style!

Hello cold; who says we have to compromise on style in our quest to keep warm?

We live in colder climes, so it is best we make the most of our wardrobe and adapt to it stylishly 😉

A few tips to transform your wardrobe this winter:

  • Pack away your summer clothes, sandals etc; makes it easier to see your Winter clothes.
  • Separate your work, rest and play clothes. Helps you navigate your wardrobe with ease.
  • Get rid of anything that doesn’t fit you well, make you feel good or that you are tired of wearing.
  • Polish your boots! Best to have 3 pairs: flat long boots for casual wear; wedge ankle boots for dresses and casual/smart attire; and heeled boots for your dresses/skirts at those smarter do’s.
  • Bring out your scarves and ditch anything that isn’t colourful! You need to wear colour against your face all year round, particularly in dark winter months.
  • Get your fix of leather this season!  A leather jacket or skirt is a must have piece.

If you would like a professional eye to sort out your winter wardrobe and get you ready for the cold.

Someone who I had always known as being very critical came up and told me that i looked so elegant.

I was pleased and have to thank you for changing my wardrobe.

I just want to know how much I appreciated your advice’.

Back to life, back to reality!

Summer is out. The Holidays are over. Children are back to school, we are back to work ….back to reality!

It’s not all doom and gloom, we have a lot to be grateful for! The Olympics and Paralympics were amazing, and I hope you all had a good break this Summer.

If you’re like me then you are desperately hanging onto the last few days of summer this week before Autumn fully kicks in.

With the recent chill that has come along, we can no longer ignore that fact that when Autumn arrives, bare legs and no sleeves just won’t be cutting it.

Here are some Style tips that enable smooth transition between Summer to Autumn, that won’t break the bank or leave you feeling cold or overheated!

  • Jackets – (not yet time for a coat) There are many key jackets in season this Autumn, whether it be your classic leather jacket or a blazer, make sure you’ve got the right outerwear to keep you warm and stylish at the same time.

  • Ankle boots– yep the rain will be here (although let’s be honest did it ever leave) and no one likes soaked shoes. Invest in a good pair of ankle boots that aren’t too high so you can stay comfy and have dry feet all day long.
  • Layering – as we are just entering Autumn the weather is still indecisive, This is why layering is perfect as it allows you to adjust what you are wearing so you are have appropriate temperature at all times, plus it looks super cool and effortless.

FAQ

As we style the nation, we are asked numerous questions on style and fashion.

Below are answers to your frequently asked questions (FAQ) and some client feedback.

Enjoy!

Q: Why do I need a stylist?

  • I want to look my best but I simply don’t have time to shop for myself.
  • I’m tired of my current look and feel I’m in need of an urgent image overhaul.
  • I can never find what to wear when I’m are getting dressed, and nothing I have looks great on me.
  • I can’t find what I like when I’m shopping, and I’m overwhelmed by the endless choices in the shops.
  • I don’t know what flatters my bodyshape and what colours suit me.

If you can relate to any of the scenarios above; you need a stylist?

Client Feedback 29th October 2011

‘I’m enjoying wearing my new clothes. It’s made me more confident and simplified my wardrobe. I’m no longer standing in front of a pile of clothes wondering what on earth to put on!’ Deirdre

Q: I can’t afford a stylist! Isn’t it just for celebrities?

A: Having a Personal stylist isn’t just reserved for celebrities or the wealthy, it’s for anyone who wants to look their best and needs expert advice and assistance in achieving this.

Contrary to popular believe stylists save you money and stop you from making those expensive wardrobe mistakes. We see too many wardrobes with unworn clothes stuffed at the back and people wearing in ill-fitting clothes. Our stylist’s give you one to one advice on the best styles that complement you. We are not about fashion, rather about selecting styles that flatter you, so you look amazing!

Client feedback 20th October 2011

’I have made some very expensive mistakes in the past and have ended up with a wardrobe full of clothes I never wear.  Using Potential U has eliminated all the costly errors and stress of shopping.  My new winter collection is fabulous and I feel confident and comfortable’. Zoe

Q: How will my stylist know what suits me?

A: Our first objective is to know you and understand your lifestyle, then discovering your colours and bodyshape is key to styling you. We know you are not a mannequin, we all come in different shapes sizes/proposition and we are passionate about working with you as an individual .

All new client consultations are initiated with a comprehensive style questionnaire; this enables us to decipher your styling needs so we can best select clothes that complement your lifestyle.

This is then followed by a Colour and bodyshape analysis consultation. We select colours that give you a youthful glow and styles that flatter your bodyshape. (We recommend a Colour and bodyshape analysis consultation prior to Personal Shopping.)

We make it our business to select clothes you require for every aspect of your life: Work, rest and play. From city professionals, business owners and home makers we believe you deserve a style that best suits your lifestyle!

Client feedback: 16th June 2011

‘As usual, it was all so easy, as you had done the hard work for me.  It was interesting to see which clothes worked and which didn’t, and I am extremely happy with the clothes that I have. Everything fits with what I already have, which you helped find for me before, so I have a bigger variety of outfits now.  Thanks so much.’ Lynn
