3 C’s of Dressing for #WFH

With the chancellor’s budget announcement last month, it looks like most of us will be working from home until September at the earliest.

Here are 3C’s of styling to consider when dress for working from home:

Colour. Comfort. Confidence!

  • Colour! Styling always starts with Colour. I love wearing happy cheery and uplifting colours and I encourage my clients to embrace colour too. 😉 God knows we need it with over a year in this pandemic.
  • Comfort is all about the cut and texture of the fabric. Breathable natural fabrics like wool, cotton, cashmere and silk are great, especially if you perspire a lot.  I also ensure the clothes I select for myself and clients flatter the body shape. So, I feel super comfortable wearing it from morning to night and my clients do too.
  • Confidence! It starts and ends with confidence for me and I try to impart that in my clients too. It’s so important to adorn our bodies in clothes that enable us to exude confidence inside out. If it doesn’t make me feel good, I won’t wear it and certainly won’t select it for my clients either. Confidence is everything!

I’ve spent hours Online Styling clients for their working-from-home clothes and thankfully they are not joggers or leggings. 😉

As we transition through different stages of life, our body shape changes and so does our style.

I am passionate about us loving and embracing our body shape irrespective of our size or proportions.

Our hair, eye and skin colours varies and so too does our body shape. Pear, apple, hour glass, athletic…the question is; which one are you and how best can you style it.

 

Here are a few tips on how to dress your body shape confidently:

  • Athletic – Go creative! Steer clear of flat boring plain clothes. Use patterns and textures to add shape to your style.

 

  • Inverted triangle – Let’s see your pins! Show off your long slender legs in knee-length shirts and dresses. Steer clear of maxi dresses and skirts

 

  • Hourglass – Keep your clothes fitted. Make sure you don’t hide your gorgeous curves under baggy clothes, show it off in tailored sculptured pieces.

 

  • Pear shape – It’s all about your waist. A belt is a key accessory in your wardrobe. Use it to accentuate and flatter your fabulous body shape.

 

  • Apple shape – Show off your gorgeous décolletage! Whether its a v neck or round neck, show your neckline and avoid polo necks and high neck tops and dresses.
