BBC…3R’s

Hello, I hope this year has started off well for you.
I had the honour of being invited to the BBC to share my nuggets on how to improve our style this year….
How we dress matters, it not only affects how we feel about ourselves but how we are perceived. Stats tell us that first impressions are made within 4 seconds of meeting a person.
For a winning style personally or professionally, here are my 3 R’s to improving your style this year:
Review. Release. Restyle.

Review!
Most of us are “creatures” of habit, we tend to wear the same looks year in year out. We aren’t aware of what suits us, so we are inclined to stay within our comfort-zone.
Our trained personal stylist will empower you with skills for life by Reviewing your colours and bodyshape. We will equip you with how to wear colours that give your skin a natural youthful glow. We also teach you clothing styles that best flatter and complement your bodyshape and proportions.

Step out of your comfort zone and let us Review what complements you best with

Release!
In nearly 11 years of styling clients and decluttering thousands of wardrobes, I’ve only seen 2 client wardrobes that weren’t overflowing with clothes. And ironically most of us only wear only 20% of our bulging wardrobes….
Are you hanging onto all those clothes for nostalgic reasons? Clothes that no longer fit or flatter you? Or perhaps they are dated or ill-fitting?
We will help you Release clothes in your wardrobe that don’t make you look or feel good.
Clear your space by booking a Wardrobe detox consultation and we will help you embrace a flattering capsule wardrobe this year:
Restyle!
Majority of us tend to wear clothing styles we are familiar with day in day out, which leaves little room for inspiration. Our personal stylists  Restyle you by exploring and injecting something different into your wardrobe this year.
We save you time, stress and ensure you don’t waste money on clothes that do nothing to uplift you.

Try someone NEW! Restyle and make a great impression this year by booking some  Personal Shopping with us this season.

Wardrobes ready…….

September is the start of all things new!

A new season, new collections, new term and perhaps new jobs and schools.…

It’s also time to say bye bye to Summer 2017 and hello to Autumn/Winter.

Here are a few wardrobe tips to help you welcome the new season in style;

1, Your clothes should make you happy, so declutter your wardrobe of clothes you didn’t feel good in, you don’t like or wear in Spring/Summer 17.

2, Best to make space, so swap your wardrobe. Pack away your holiday and summer clothes. Dig out your Autumn/Winter clothes: shoes, boots, outerwear and accessories.

3, Write a shopping list of gaps in your Autumn/Winter wardrobe that you will need for the new season.

4, To save time when getting dressed in the mornings, create different looks from the clothes you have, for your work, casual and social wear…

5, If the above tasks seem daunting, our trained stylist will happily help you declutter your wardrobe, create numerous stylish looks for the new season from your existing wardrobe and have you ready for Autumn/Winter effortlessly.

A Slender New Year!

If you are anything like me, you have over indulged during the festive season and are keen to shift the extra pounds.

Here are a few style tips to give you a head start, so you look and feel your best this year.

Style tips for a slender you:

  • Colour: colour continuity is key to lengthening your silhouette. Wear the same colour top, bottoms, (tights) and shoes. Inject colour with your jacket, scarf or jewellery
  • Fabric: opt for more fluid fabrics such as silk or chiffon, steer clear of lycra or anything that clings to the body
  • Dress: wear more dresses and skirts: they are more forgiving and flattering. They also hide a multitude of sins – rather than trousers, which show everything!
  • Accessories: lay aside all belts (thin or wide) till you have achieved your desired circumference 😉 Belts draw attention to your midriff and emphasis it
  • Shoes: a pair a fabulous heels elongate your body so you appear slimmer

Snuggle up in Style!

Hello cold; who says we have to compromise on style in our quest to keep warm?

We live in colder climes, so it is best we make the most of our wardrobe and adapt to it stylishly 😉

A few tips to transform your wardrobe this winter:

  • Pack away your summer clothes, sandals etc; makes it easier to see your Winter clothes.
  • Separate your work, rest and play clothes. Helps you navigate your wardrobe with ease.
  • Get rid of anything that doesn’t fit you well, make you feel good or that you are tired of wearing.
  • Polish your boots! Best to have 3 pairs: flat long boots for casual wear; wedge ankle boots for dresses and casual/smart attire; and heeled boots for your dresses/skirts at those smarter do’s.
  • Bring out your scarves and ditch anything that isn’t colourful! You need to wear colour against your face all year round, particularly in dark winter months.
  • Get your fix of leather this season!  A leather jacket or skirt is a must have piece.

If you would like a professional eye to sort out your winter wardrobe and get you ready for the cold.

  • This season is predominately Black and White. Less colour more Monochrome. Wear a pop of colour with your accessories and shoes!

  • Out goes the feminine floral prints of summer, in are more masculine androgynous styles. Trousers, zips, studs and panelling are BIG this Autumn/Winter!

  • Leather is a key piece for your wardrobe this season. Pick up a leather jacket or a leather skirt in this fab texture; it will keep you warm as the nights draw in.  Leather skirts look chic with long boots and knitwear.

  • The main colours you will spot on the high street are dark green and bright red. Great festive colours that will brighten up your wardrobe this season!

‘I have to tell you. I gave a talk last night and wore one of the dresses and jewellery you advised me to buy. I know it was ages ago, but it is smart, tailored and I felt very confident.

Someone who I had always known as being very critical came up and told me that i looked so elegant.

I was pleased and have to thank you for changing my wardrobe.

I just want to know how much I appreciated your advice’.

Back to life, back to reality!

Summer is out. The Holidays are over. Children are back to school, we are back to work ….back to reality!

It’s not all doom and gloom, we have a lot to be grateful for! The Olympics and Paralympics were amazing, and I hope you all had a good break this Summer.

If you’re like me then you are desperately hanging onto the last few days of summer this week before Autumn fully kicks in.

With the recent chill that has come along, we can no longer ignore that fact that when Autumn arrives, bare legs and no sleeves just won’t be cutting it.

Here are some Style tips that enable smooth transition between Summer to Autumn, that won’t break the bank or leave you feeling cold or overheated!

  • Jackets – (not yet time for a coat) There are many key jackets in season this Autumn, whether it be your classic leather jacket or a blazer, make sure you’ve got the right outerwear to keep you warm and stylish at the same time.

  • Ankle boots– yep the rain will be here (although let’s be honest did it ever leave) and no one likes soaked shoes. Invest in a good pair of ankle boots that aren’t too high so you can stay comfy and have dry feet all day long.
  • Layering – as we are just entering Autumn the weather is still indecisive, This is why layering is perfect as it allows you to adjust what you are wearing so you are have appropriate temperature at all times, plus it looks super cool and effortless.

How to look slimmer in your clothes this year!

Happy New Year!

If you are anything like the most of us, you overindulged over the festive period. Your clothes feel a little snug, and you have great plans to  get fit and healthy in 2012.

6 Amazing Style tips to help you look slim and trim this year:

1:Overly baggy clothes make you look bigger than you are. Tailored, well-fitted clothes make you look sleek and well groomed!

2:Steer clear of colour blocking! Keep continuity of colour ie: wear the same colour top, bottoms and shoes. This will elongate your figure

3:To appear trimmer, avoid wearing pleated clothing! They bulk you up and add extra volume.

4:Wear heels; they lengthen your legs! Heels as small as 2 inches; make you look leaner and improves your body posture.

5:Avoid wearing horizontal lines; they widen your proportions! Opt for simple, plain or linear lines.

6:Large bold prints magnify! Go for small delicate prints.
